Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has assured that injustice will not be done with anyone and contravention of law and order will not happen either. Each and every clause of JIT report will be implemented in letter and spirit. Government is not doing politically motivated victimisation against anyone. Government cannot provide relief to anyone undergoing accountability cases except recommended by concerned authority. He was referring to PML-N leader saying that medical facilities will be provided to leadership of PMLN as per recommendations of Medical Board. He said that medical board has been constituted to provide recommendations on health status of imprisoned former Prime Minister. He added that we will take measures as per report of medical board and as per law.
All universities will be depoliticized, resource enriched and merit will pervade, said Governor while addressing 9th convocation of GCU Fsd
He was addressing while meeting Federal Parliamentary Secretary Farrukh Habib and Provincial Assembly Members Mian Waris, Moon Kastro and others. While addressing 9th convocation of Government College University of Fsd, he added, initial report of JIT has been translated into action and further action will be taken on final report assuring that complete action as per spirit of justice will be taken. Governor Punjab also called on all stake holders to reform criminal justice system of country. He said that our criminal justice should be based on theory of equal law treatment and reformation approach instead of retribution and deterrence only. The criteria of success for human beings is not power and wealth, but service of humanity. All provincial universities in Punjab will be depoliticised and merit will be the only governing principle in universities, he said adding that all appointments including appointment of Vice Chancellors will be done as per spirit of merit and as per policy and strong recommendation of Prime Minister Imran Khan, standard of education will be uplifted and resources will be provided to educational institutions.
NS will be provided medical treatment as per medical board’s suggestion
He said that universities are engines of socio-economic growth and produce skilled manpower that plays pivotal role in development of transformation of societies. He said that Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia have become knowledge economies and economic success stories due to focus on universities. Universities are epicentres of progress, research and development. He stressed that professional educational training was needed to augment system of education as leadership can only be produced by societal and cultural revolution. While referring to a recent book, “Why Culture Matters”, He said that we also need to transform minds of individuals to spur growth in country. He said only confident, self-motivated, resilient and passionate individuals can take steps towards individual, national and global progress. He also stressed upon students to develop new skills in light of 21st century and read international literature to equip them to cope up with modern challenges. He said that machine learning, quantum physics, artificial intelligence and big data are rising and demanding skills and our students and educational institutions should focus on them.
